Urban sustainability and green infrastructure
- Analyze and evaluate the implementation and management of nature-based solutions (NBS) and other socio-technical-ecological innovations as adaptation strategies, with special focus on the coastline and urban waterfronts. Governance, socio-urban effects, ecosystem values (provision, regulation, cultural, habitat), risk perception, and conflicts associated with these interventions are studied.
- Study the social challenges associated with urban innovations such as digitization of mobility systems to foster socially just transitions.
- Provide recommendations to inform public policy, inclusive design of mobility solutions and contribute to capacity building and collaborative networking.
- Analyze the development of transformations in urban systems (physical infrastructure and governance) to address social challenges.
